JANUARY 6, 2021

A day’s history ends when its night is done and a new dawn begins,

But then it is too close to the rising sun to properly assess its toxins.

Indeed history is usually counted in decades, centuries, and millennia

With a beginning and like end repeated as a bifurcated schizophrenia.

Informed by whatever it is we thirst after and most often do not need,

A much sought-after, but unsatisfied thirst that lingers with our greed.

The greater our greed the more intense are the desires born of its thirst,

And as Man’s greed does increase, so too his sad lot oft becomes worse.
